About Gorls Who Eat
Gorls Who Eat is a body-acceptance community for anyone craving real connection without the noise of diet talk, food rules, or body comments.
What started as a small virtual book club has grown into a welcoming circle of gorls who gather for dinners, crafts, conversation, and grounding moments that help us feel more at home in ourselves — and with each other.
We keep things simple: good food, honest conversation, and a space where your body is the least interesting thing about you. In a world that’s loud with comparison and pressure, GWE exists so you have somewhere to ground yourself, connect, breathe, and be seen for more than your appearance.
Meet the Founder
I’m Mikaela — the founder and host of Gorls Who Eat.
Before I built this community, I spent many seasons navigating my own relationship with food and body image, learning what it feels like to accept my body, trust myself, and build a life that isn’t shaped by rules, restriction, or self-hatred.
When I first began this work, I tried health coaching and body image coaching, but something was missing. What felt right — what felt natural — was gathering women, creating cozy spaces, and helping them feel more at home in their bodies. I also saw how much support women still needed after therapy or food-relationship work ended. When real life and diet culture hit again, where were they supposed to go? Who could they talk to?
So I created Gorls Who Eat.
What began as a simple book club to ignite deeper conversations has become a community that surprises me every month — a place where meaningful connections are made, conversations go deep, and joy fills the room.
This work matters to me because I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself or others due to food and body noise, to feel misunderstood when someone comments on your body, or to be triggered when the office girls are counting calories. Gorls Who Eat is the opposite of that. It’s a body-neutral home for connection, care, belonging, and shared experience.
I’m so glad you’re here.
About Book Club
Book Club is where the deeper magic of GWE lives. We read books that help us unlearn body rules and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that feel powerful, soft, and free. We meet once a month, moving slowly through each book — one every two months — so the pace feels gentle, doable, and human.
Each cohort stays small (10–15 gorls) because intimacy matters here. It’s a space to listen, reflect, laugh, and share without judgment. A place for anyone who wants to focus less on their body and more on living a life that feels like their own.
